Nostalgia

I was walking around my house trying to find something to do. The sound of rain smashing against the window was just a depressing noise that I wanted to drown out with my laughter. I had nothing to entertain myself, the tele had nothing good on and I wasn't able to reach the fridge. I sat on the sofa and crossed my arms for about an hour. Then I hear my door open. Who could this be? I am home alone so could it be my mommy?

I rushed to the door and yes it was my mother and she had a quite large black bag and told me to take it upstairs and open it. I was curious to ask what was in there but I decided to find out for myself.

I rushed up the stairs holding the bag. When I reached my room I gently layed it on my bed and opened it. My eyes couldn't believe it. They were shocked beyond all belief. I reached in to the bag and pulled out my very first gaming console. The SEGA Genesis. Oh it was beautiful, I screamed in surprise and my mother rushed up to help me plug the Genesis in to my tele. After all the technical stuff was over, I reached in to the bag and pulled out one of the many games that were with it. I pulled out JURASSIC PARK [RAMPAGE EDITION] And by God for me that was scary. I put that thing in and started playing. The graphics were amazing and I had no idea how to react to such beauty.

After a few hours of playing JURRASSIC PARK I decided to play another game. I reach in to the bag with my eyes closed and I pull out one of the best games ever made. Sonic The Hedgehog. The original one baby. And played that thing until I was told it was bed time. Even after that I woke up, turned down the volume on my tele and played some RoboCop Vs. Terminator.

I think back to those days every time I look at my Genesis. It lays at the foot of my bed and I remember those days where I was 5 and I was playing these games like they were some kind of drug. And this has followed me in to today. I play Xbox games now. But they can't replace what the Genesis did. Oh it was a thing of beauty indeed.

Quite a thing of beauty nostalgia is... gosh, I can imagine you doing that.
I get nostalgia a lot looking at some of my old Pokemon games... or at my old drawings...
